Spelling of given name: Nicholas and Nicolas (per Abstract of titleandWill of Amandus Studer. Athrop & Weaver Abstracters, Algona, IA) DEATH: Nicholas died of a ruptured appendix at age thirty-eight. Hepassedaway October 29, 1894, leaving Sarah to raise five children on herown.Six years later Sara also died leaving young Amandus, Jacob, Peter,Maryand Veronica orphaned. It is said that the grandparents and UncleNatehelped raise these children. However, per his father's Abstract andWill,it is noted that J.V.
