- ! It would appear taht when Chiristopher immigrated to the USA that he
took the name of Lokken by adding "en" to lokk. Recall that in Norway the man
usually took the name of the farm on which he lived. In the case of
Christopher's father, who was Christopher Hanson or the son of Hans Olsen
Odden,his father normally would have taken the name of Snorroeggen as that
was the name of the farm where he was born. However Christopher Hanson bought
the Fagerhauglokk Farm in 1813 and took the name of Fagerhauglokk. He
homesteaded under the name of Christopher Christopherson, he was married as
Christopher, he is listed in the Oppdal Lager as Christoffer, he was
buried as Christopher.
