Ignatius Studer, aka-Nathan, aka-Nate. At age 45 he retired fromfarmingand built a home in Wesley, IA. He was one of the organziers ofthe FirstNational Bank and was it's president for 30 years.

Jimmie Neville....mentioned that years ago he had worked in Wesley
pressing hay for $1.00 a day. That same year he had put up 112 acresofhay on shares for Nate Studer and pitched it into the Kunz hay barnfor$2.00 a ton. He is a native of Waterlooshire, CAN,whereAmandus and Francis (Bolinger) Studer had 10 children, of whomJoseph is2nd in order of birth. When he was 17 years old, he wasdetermined toexchange his home in the Dominion for one in the UnitedStates andaccordingly went to IL where he stayed 4 years, coming thenceto Eldera,IA and 2 years later to Franklin, Co. where he located in 1873.He wasmarried Jan 2, 1872 to Catharine Hoffer. They are the parents of6children: Edward, Mary, William, George, Joseph and Matilda. Mr.Studeris a democrat and the family are communicants of the CatholicChurch.Marriage: 2 or 21 Jan 1872?
Joseph and family are listed as residing in Kossuth county on the1895Iowa census. At some point in time, after Catherine died, Josephlivedwith Lydia and Andrew Engels.

DEATH: Newspaper Obituary. The headline reads: Joseph Studer diesheretoday (August, 1931). Funeral Service Friday at Ten o'clock at churchofSt. Augustine. Joseph Studer, 81, died this morning at five o'clock,hisdeath due to infirmities of his advanced age. Funeral sevices willbeheld Friday morning at the church of St. Augustine at 10 o'clockwithReverend August Preusser officiating and burial made in Calvarycemetery.Mr. Studer was born in Ontario, CAN, in 1850, and at the age of16 movedwith his parents to Lena, IL. In the year 1872 he marriedCatherineHoffer, who died in 1915. After their marriage, the couple movedto IA,where they lived until 1899, when they moved to St. Cloud, MN withtheirfamily. Mr. Studer remained here the rest of his life, and duringhisyounger years was engaged in the real estate business. He is survivedbyseven children. They are E. J. Studer of Corwith, IA, G. N. StuderofRockville, MN, J. E. Studer of Mayhew Lake, A. G. Studer of Foreston,E.M. Studer of St. Cloud, MN, L. D. Studer of St. Wendell, and Mrs. A.J.Engels, St. Cloud, MN. There are four other children now deceased,Mr.Mary Huber of Plainfield, WI, W. J. Studer of St. Cloud, MN and twowhodied in infancy. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Frank ImmerfallofAvon, and four brothers, Gregory Studer of St. Benedict, IA,NathianStuder of Weseley, IA, August Studer of Plover, IA and FrankStuder ofEastend, Sask., CAN. There are 57 grandchildren and 19greatgrandchildren. The body will be taken to the home of Mrs. A. J.Engels,216 Wilson Avenue S. E. on Thursday.

DEATH: Nicholas died of a ruptured appendix at age thirty-eight. Hepassedaway October 29, 1894, leaving Sarah to raise five children on herown.Six years later Sara also died leaving young Amandus, Jacob, Peter,Maryand Veronica orphaned. It is said that the grandparents and UncleNatehelped raise these children. However, per his father's Abstract andWill,it is noted that J.V.
